From November 22-24, New Democrats from all corners of BC will gather in Victoria for our biennial convention. This time, our theme is Putting People First.

Join us for two and a half days of spirited policy discussions, training sessions and events as we celebrate two years of a government working for people, and keep growing our movement for the future.

Our 2019 Convention will take place at the Victoria Conference Centre, 720 Douglas Street, Victoria.

Travel and accommodation

Delegates are responsible for booking their own accommodation and travel.

Accommodation, at negotiated convention rates, is available at a number of hotels in Victoria.

To access negotiated convention rates, delegates must book through WE Travel.

You can contact them by calling 604-312-5347 (toll-free at 1-800-663-4703) or emailing margaret@wetravel.net.

We work hard to make BC NDP events accessible. Some of the accessible initiatives at Convention 2019 include:

- a scent-free space
- gender-neutral washrooms
- captioning services in the plenary hall
- ASL interpretation
- a fully wheelchair-accessible venue
- accessible seating area with a dedicated microphone
- ramp access for the stage
- large format print documents available at Registration
- PDF documents for use with screen readers

At Convention, please find a BC NDP staff or volunteer or go to the BC NDP information booth if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!

Child care

Convention 2019 is a family-friendly event, and children up to 12-years-old are welcome on the convention floor if accompanied by a guardian who is a registered delegate.

BC NDP members ages 12 and up can register as delegates.

We are working hard to ensure that everyone can fully participate in Convention 2019.

Child care will be located at the Hotel Grand Pacific on Friday from 9am-8pm, Saturday from 7am-6pm and Sunday from 7am-3:30pm. Snacks will be provided, but meals will not (we'll be returning children to their parents for lunch and dinner).

The deadline to register for child care was October 25.

In Memoriam

We are currently preparing a tribute to honour New Democrats we have lost since our last convention in 2017 and would appreciate your help in compiling an up-to-date list.
